A play about a young Hurler who emigrates to Australia. This play is on tour throughout Ireland and The Lodge is the only stop in NI. It deals with tensions between youth and their parents and issues of emigration and sport. Not to be missed!

Macalla na hÉireann, the 2009 Comhaltas Concert Tour of Ireland, will visit 14 venues between the 11th and 24th of October. The annual Tour features the best of traditional talent drawn from all four Provinces of Ireland.

The Down Fleadh will take place on the 26th and 27th June. All music, singing and Irish Language competitions will take place on the Sunday NOT the usual Saturday. Set and Ceili Dancing Competitions will be on the Fri Night and Marching Band Competitions on Saturday.

For over 30 years Comhaltas have nurtured traditional music talent and have noted that many musicians hail from the Kilmegan Parish. The Lodge will provide a permanent home for Comhaltas which has used many temporary premises from Carnacaville Primary School to Newcastle Parish Centre. The coordinator of the project, Mr Nicholas Mc Crickard confirmed that the Lodge will welcome music to suit all tastes including the sounds of the Accordian Orchestra and aims to encourage young Rock musicians to use the high quality practice and performance space.
